About VPA

At Veterinary Pulse Alliance (VPA), we bridge critical gaps in animal healthcare across our communities. When regular veterinary clinics close their doors for the day, we open ours, providing essential emergency care when pets and their families need it most.

Our work extends beyond the examination room. We're actively strengthening our veterinary community through professional development opportunities, educational resources, and staffing support for clinics experiencing shortages. By addressing both immediate care needs and long-term professional growth, we're building a more resilient healthcare system for animals throughout our communities.

From emergency interventions to community building, every aspect of our work focuses on one goal: ensuring that quality veterinary care is accessible to all of our local communities, no matter the hour or location.

Why VPA is Needed

For over 30 years, Teton County’s veterinary clinics have attempted to share after-hours duties. These rotating systems haven’t lasted—most recently resulting in one clinic shouldering nearly two-thirds of all on-call shifts. The result: burnout, staff turnover, and limited coverage.

Currently, emergency care is only available on summer weekends until 10 PM. After hours, the closest option is 85 miles away in Idaho Falls. Our pets—and the people who care for them—deserve better.

Our Solution

Located in the Target Plaza in Jackson, Pet Pulse After-Hours ER will open in 2026 and will function like a pet ER in a larger city—open nights, weekends, and holidays to provide urgent care when regular clinics are closed. Pet Pulse will have its own team of vet professionals whose primary job is to be there for you and your pets after-hours so your regular day time team can be refreshed and ready to help you during the day!

How you can help.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps make emergency services available and strengthens veterinary care throughout our communities. Your generosity creates a safety net for pets and their families when they need it most.
