THE STORY
More Than a Hospital - A Mission
Veterinary Pulse Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a dual mission: to meet our region's urgent need for after-hours veterinary care — and to support the people who make that care possible. Through our flagship initiative—Pet Pulse After Hours ER—we're creating a sustainable, compassionate solution to a long-standing gap in veterinary emergency care.
For over 30 years, Teton County's veterinary clinics have struggled with rotating after-hours coverage, leading to burnout, staff turnover, and limited availability.
Our urgent care hybrid hospital (opening early fall 2026) will change that. We'll be open nights, weekends, and holidays to provide urgent care when regular clinics are closed, working in partnership with existing veterinarians. Our nonprofit structure lets us focus on what matters: veterinary care, not profit margins.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Where Clinical Excellence Meets a Team That Has Your Back
Veterinary nursing is demanding work. The best nurses are technical, empathetic, fast-thinking, and deeply caring — and they deserve an environment that honors that.
At our urgent care and emergency hospital, we've intentionally built a culture where nurses aren't stretched thin or treated like a commodity. You'll work a manageable caseload, alongside supportive DVMs who value your input, and a team that genuinely lifts each other up.
Whether you're placing an IV catheter, monitoring anesthesia, or walking a nervous client through discharge instructions — you'll have the time and support to do it right.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
A Role With Real Depth
This isn't a task-runner position. You'll be a true clinical partner — engaged at every stage of the patient journey.
🐾
Patient Advocacy
Champion every patient's comfort and safety. Monitor status, report changes to the DVM, and ensure medical needs are met with compassion at every step.
💉
Technical Excellence
Perform high-quality nursing skills:
venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthetic monitoring, radiology, medication administration, and more.
💬
Client Communication
Build client trust with empathy and
professionalism. Support DVMs in
client education, explain procedures clearly, and ensure treatment plans are fully understood.
📋
Real-Time Record Keeping
Maintain accurate SOAPs, document treatments and medications in real time, and ensure continuity of care
across shifts and providers.
🏥
Hospital Operations
Help keep the hospital running
smoothly — from prepping exam and surgical rooms to managing inventory, equipment maintenance, and reporting supply needs.
🌱
Mentorship & Growth
Support newer team members,
participate in skills training, and stay current through CE, certifications, and an openness to evolving veterinary practices.
